Enhanced Item View (Beta)

Overview

Enhanced Item View gives items a cleaner, more spacious layout. eLearning content fills the full width of the page, standalone items sit inside a styled card, and conversations move into a collapsible side panel. It's a visual change only — nothing about how items are created or completed is affected.

This is an Open Beta feature. Enable or disable it at any time from Company Settings → Beta Features.

What's New

Expanded eLearning player

Embedded SCORM and eLearning items now expand to fill the card width. Item details (title, type, duration, description) move into a collapsible card or sidebar instead of sitting inline above the content.

Only applies to items with display mode set to embed.

Card styling for standalone items

Standalone items are wrapped in a card with a shadow and rounded corners.

Collapsible conversations panel

Reviews, Q&A, and Discussion tabs move from below the content into a 360px collapsible panel on the right. Collapse or expand it with the chevron, or expand it into a full modal for a larger view.

The panel only appears if Q&A, Discussions, or Reviews are enabled for the item. It hides during Author Content editing, since the block editor uses the same sidebar space.

Prerequisites

Role Requirements

No special roles required. Everyone who can view an item sees the new layout.

Quick Start Guide

1. Go to Company Settings → Beta Features

2. Switch on Enhanced Item View

3. Open any item to see the new layout

FAQs

Q: Will this affect all my eLearning content?
Only items with display mode set to embed. Other display modes are unchanged.

Q: Why can't I see the conversations panel?
Q&A, Discussions, or Reviews must be enabled for both your company and the specific item.

Q: The conversations panel disappears while I'm editing Author Content
The block editor uses the same sidebar space, so the panel returns once you finish editing.
