Blast Notifications

Overview

Blast Notifications allow you to send custom messages directly to multiple users at once—right from the People list. Whether you're announcing a new learning initiative, sending a friendly reminder, or sharing important updates, this feature helps you reach the right people quickly and efficiently.

Each recipient receives your message as both an in-app notification and an email, ensuring your communication lands where it matters most.

Functionality Breakdown

Blast Notifications work as a bulk messaging tool within your People management area. Here's what happens when you send one:

Message Composition

  • Use the built-in rich text editor to format your message with bold, italic, underline, and links

  • Preview your message before sending to ensure it looks just right

Delivery

  • Each selected user receives an in-app notification (visible in their notification bell)

  • An email is also sent to each recipient, with your name as the sender

  • Messages are delivered immediately upon sending

User Selection

  • Select individual users using checkboxes

  • Use "Select all" to choose everyone on the current page

  • For larger audiences, select all users across multiple pages

💡 Tip: Blast Notifications are perfect for time-sensitive announcements, compliance reminders, or celebrating team achievements.

FAQs

Q: Will users receive both an email and an in-app notification?
Yes—each recipient receives your message in two ways: as an in-app notification (visible when they click the notification bell) and as an email sent to their registered email address.

Q: Can I see who has read my notification?
Currently, Blast Notifications do not provide read receipts. For tracking engagement with specific content, consider using Tasks or Shares instead.

Q: Is there a limit to how many users I can message at once?
There is no fixed limit. You can select users individually, by page, or across all pages in your filtered view.

Q: Can I schedule a notification to send later?
Blast Notifications are sent immediately. For scheduled communications, consider using Tasks with future due dates.

Q: Can I include images or attachments?
The message editor supports text formatting and links, but does not support images or file attachments. Include links to external resources or Learn Amp content instead.

Q: Who appears as the sender of the email?
Your name appears as the sender, and recipients can reply directly to your email address.

"Send notification message" option not visible

Ensure you have an Owner, Admin, or HR role. If you do, contact your system administrator to confirm Blast Notifications are enabled for your company.

Users not receiving emails

Check that the recipients have valid email addresses and have not unsubscribed from platform emails. Review their notification settings.

Cannot select users across pages

After selecting all users on the current page, look for the "Select all [X] people" link that appears above the user list.

Message formatting not appearing correctly

Use the Preview function before sending to check your formatting. Avoid copying text from external applications, which may include hidden formatting.

Send button is disabled

Ensure you have written a message in the editor. The Send button only becomes active after previewing a non-empty message.
