FAQs

Q: How often is skills data updated in reports?
Skills reports reflect real-time data. When a user updates a rating, it's immediately available in reports.

Q: Can I export skills report data?
Dashboard widgets can be exported to CSV where the export option is available. For detailed user-level exports, use the Skills Export feature from individual profiles.

Q: What's the difference between 'Total skills rated' and 'Total skills ratings'?
'Total skills rated' counts unique skills that have at least one rating. 'Total skills ratings' counts the total number of ratings across all users and skills.

Q: How is 'Average skill rating' calculated?
It's the mean of all preferred ratings (manager rating where available, otherwise self-rating) across your organisation.

Q: Can I create custom skills reports?
Yes! Create a new dashboard and add skills widgets to build your own reporting view. You can combine skills widgets with other metrics for a comprehensive people development dashboard.

Q: Why do some skills show no data?
Skills only appear in reports once they have ratings. If a skill is enabled but no users have rated it yet, it won't appear in distribution reports.

Q: Can I see skills trends over time?
Currently, skills reports show point-in-time data. Historical tracking is available through the audit trail on individual skill ratings.

Solution

Skills widgets not available on dashboards

Ensure Skills is enabled on your account. Contact your Customer Success Manager if the widgets aren't appearing.

Reports showing no data

Check that users have skills with ratings recorded. Skills without ratings won't appear in reports.

Can't filter by my team

Verify you have the appropriate role (Owner, Admin, HR) and that team structures are correctly configured.

Export option not available

Not all widgets support export. Try the Skills Export feature from individual user profiles for detailed data.

Skills Gap Analysis showing blank

A role must be selected, and that role must have associated skills with required levels defined.

Highest Rated With not showing users

Users need ratings for the selected skill. If no one has rated that skill, no results will appear.
