Visible to Sub-teams
Overview
Visible to Sub-teams is a visibility setting that allows events to be shared with child teams of selected teams. When enabled, if you make an event visible to a parent team, all its sub-teams automatically gain access too.
This powerful feature simplifies visibility management for organisations with hierarchical team structures, ensuring learning opportunities reach everyone who needs them.

FAQs
Does this affect enrolment permissions?
Visibility controls who can see the event. Enrolment permissions are configured separately and may have their own team-based rules.
What if a user is in multiple teams?
They only need to be in one team (or sub-team) that has visibility to see the event.
Can I exclude specific sub-teams?
Currently, it's all-or-nothing. To exclude specific sub-teams, disable sub-team visibility and manually select only the teams you want.
Does this work with deeply nested teams?
Yes, sub-team visibility cascades through all levels of the hierarchy.
What happens if team structure changes?
Visibility updates automatically when teams are reorganised. New sub-teams inherit visibility from their parent.
Can I see which sub-teams have visibility?
The interface typically shows the parent team. Sub-teams are included implicitly when the setting is enabled.
Troubleshooting

|---|---|
Sub-team members can't see the event | Verify "Visible to sub-teams" is enabled. Check the user is actually in a sub-team of the selected team. |
Too many people can see the event | Disable sub-team visibility to restrict to only the selected teams. |
Can't find sub-team visibility option | This feature may need to be enabled for your company. Contact your administrator. |
Visibility not updating after team changes | Allow time for changes to propagate. Team membership changes may take a few minutes to reflect. |
