Completion Notifications
Overview
Completion Notifications automatically alert designated people when a learner completes an event. This keeps managers, coaches, and other stakeholders informed about training progress without requiring them to check reports manually.
You can configure exactly who gets notified and even include a custom message—making it easy to celebrate achievements or prompt follow-up conversations.
Functionality Breakdown
How Completion Notifications Work
When a learner completes an event (attendance marked as "attended" and the session is complete):
The system identifies who should be notified based on your settings
Notifications are sent via email and/or in-app
Recipients see the learner's name, event name, and completion details
If configured, a custom message is included
Who Can Be Notified

FAQs
When exactly are completion notifications sent?
Notifications are sent when attendance is confirmed and the session/event is marked complete. For automatic attendance tracking, this happens shortly after the meeting ends.
Can learners opt out of having their completion shared?
No, completion notifications are controlled by administrators. However, they go to designated stakeholders (managers, coaches), not broadcast widely.
What if a learner doesn't have a manager assigned?
If "Notify Manager" is enabled but the learner has no manager, that notification simply won't be sent. Other enabled notifications (coach, selected users) still send.
Can I notify different people for different events?
Yes, notification settings are configured per event. Each event can have different recipients.
Do completion notifications include the custom message?
Yes, if a custom message is configured, it appears in the email notification to all recipients.
Are completion notifications sent for all sessions or just the first?
For "All Sessions" events, notifications send when all sessions are attended. For "Selected Sessions" events, notifications send after each attended session.
Can I test completion notifications?
You can test by completing an event yourself and checking if your manager/coach receives the notification.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
Manager not receiving notifications | Verify the learner has a manager assigned in their profile. Check the manager's email preferences. |
Coach notifications not sending | Ensure the learner has a coach assigned. Verify "Notify Coach" is enabled. |
Selected users not receiving notifications | Confirm the users are still in the selected list. Check their email preferences. |
Custom message not appearing | Verify the message was saved in the notification settings. |
Notifications sent for incomplete attendance | Check attendance status—notifications require "Attended" status. |
Multiple notifications being sent | This can happen for events with multiple sessions. Each completion triggers a notification. |
